McCoys Split Weekend Games

Real McCoys

The Dundas Real McCoys turned their fortunes around last Friday night at the Harry Howell arena in Waterdown with a 5 - 2 victory over who are becoming their arch rivals, the Hamilton Steelhawks. It is nice to see what the McCoys can do with a strong bench and having most of their top players on the game sheet. Charlie Stevens, Phil Brewer and Brad Bonello led the way for Dundas with a goal and an assist each, while Dustin Alcock and Darren Haydar added single goals. Guy Polillo and Jason Williams set up two scoring plays each.

The team's fortunes did not last that long when they were defeated by the Stoney Creek Generals the next night at the Gateway Ice Centre by the usual strong showing by the Generals who outscored the McCoys 8 - 5. Dundas got goals from Guy Polillo who chipped in with a pair and singles from Dustin Alcock, Charlie Stephens and Phil Brewer. Polillo continues to be a pleasant surprise for the Dundas coaching staff, a rookie at this level of hockey who hasn't missed a game and leads the McCoys in scoring with 5 goals and 14 assists. He sits in fifth place in league scoring.

Next up for the McCoys is a home game this coming Friday against the Stoney Creek Generals at the "Howell" in Waterdown followed by a bus trip to Whitby the next day for a 6:30pm game.
